PADI Freediver Instructor Crossover
These are the current requirements for you to become a PADI Freediver Instructor: have a qualifying freediving instructor certification are at least 18 have a current medical (signed by a physician) be an EFR Instructor (or have first aid/CPR instructor-level training with another organization), You can complete the PADI Freediver Instructor Orientation with us to qualify as PADI Freediver Instructor. Depending on your credentials from your certifying agency you can also qualify as PADI Advanced or Master Instructor.
Note that at Freedive Flow we do not allow any form a breath manipulation before holding your breath. If your Instructor Trainer can hear you breathing (except when taking the One Full Breath or performing Recovery Breaths) you will not be allowed to dive. This excludes for example all techniques of prolonged exhalations and breathing patterns (2:4, 4:8 or “full breath cycles”). At Freedive Flow we focus on relaxation before freediving by application of a relaxation technique like the body scan or attention deconcentration. THE PADI CROSSOVER CONTENT AT FREEDIVE FLOW
At Freedive Flow it is our goal to uphold to the highest standards in the freediving industry. To enrol in the PADI Instructor Orientation we will thus examinate your performance as a freedive instructor by checking the following standards: Open Water Technique Examination: Perform a CWT dive to 32-40m by use of lanyard, in demonstration technique incl. freefall. Buddying a freediver on a CWT dive of min. -30m CO2-dive: 1 min of vertical finning with elbows above the water, followed by a 20m CWT dive. Standby Rescue: Performing a min. 1Min hang at -15m before rescuing a freediver Rescue of a diver from 25m, followed by a 50m tow on the surface while providing rescue breaths and/or CPR Open Water Teaching Examination: Teach 1 skill from the PADI Freediver Course (e.g. the duck dive)
Confined Water Technique Examination: Perform a DYN dive of min. 60m in demonstration technique Confined Water Teaching Examination: Teach 1 skill from the PADI Freediver Course (e.g. buddying in DYN) Following the PADI Instructor Orientation in a 4h classroom session Passing the PADI Instructor Exam (75%) Fees: PADI Freediver Instructor Orientation (2 days): The price includes
1 pool examination,1 open water examination,1 half-day classroom session and 1 written exam. All needed gear and weights are provided.
